I was taken by surprise when I saw a Tweet of people booking Airbnb in Ukraine. Do people really want to go there NOW for holidays? Especially, at a time when they are in a war with Russia?
Well, the question couldn’t be further from the truth. It turns out people from different parts of the world are making bookings using Airbnb in Ukraine. Not for accommodation but to contribute directly to locals who have been hosting their homes prior to the war (now in shatters).
During trying times like this, where the novelty of humanity is in question, such unselfish actions warms the heart. Unfortunately, these stories don’t get the attention it deserves from the mainstream news outlet.
People are booking Airbnbs in Ukraine they don’t intend to stay in just to help Hosts https://t.co/L6B11ioSXb

You want to support people in Ukraine? Go to your airBnB and book a week or weekend in one of the cities. Or towns and donate the room. Take the middle man out of your donation. We just did. #Ukraine #peace #BookUkraine #lviv 🇺🇦@Ukraine pic.twitter.com/OdXr0ceg24

In 48 hours, 61,406 nights have been booked in Ukraine. That's $1.9M going to Hosts in need

Such a cool idea from our community. Thank you https://t.co/MEitgKB5Eo
Airbnb has also jumped on the idea and now allowing options to host the refugees from Ukraine. If you are in the country where the Ukraine refugees are fleeing, you could show your virtues to those in need.
