Can you really Earn Money Online? Do you spend a decent amount of time on the internet? This this may be helpful…
This is not a click-bait or a scam. It is true that you can earn money online BUT, unfortunately, do not expect to make a living out of it. The apps/sites mentioned here for earnings are based on my usage and earnings. They can be broadly grouped into:
- Surveys
- Online Shopping
1. SURVEYS
The surveys are in the form of questionnaires that ranges from lifestyle (Travelling/Food/Drinks), investments, opinions on current issues, popular cultures etc. I usually participate in the surveys when I am commuting, during my free time or private moments (who would have thought that one could earn money even in your most private space!). It is a good way to have your opinions heard and also earn money.
Points are awarded after the completion of each survey, which can be exchanged for money after accumulating enough points. For the pay-outs, a PayPal account is required, which you register with your email. The PayPal account can be later linked to your local bank account for the transfer.
1-1 Rakuten
Rakuten is one of the better sites for earning because of the regular surveys put up. The pay-outs are through Paypal and e-vouchers of Grab and Dairy Farm. Minimum points for pay-out is 75 points, equivalent to $3 SGD and maximum is 1500 points, equivalent to $100 SGD (+$4.20 SGD as Bonus). It is best to accumulate your points and withdraw in bulk to avail the Bonus (see image below left). Currently, based on my 993 points, I can withdraw $50 SGD (+$1.52 SGD Bonus).
Below is a screenshot of my withdrawals from Rakuten so far (bottom right). You can sign up through Google Play or website and start earning. The links are not affiliate links.
1-2 SurveyOn
The earnings in SurveyOn is in USD. Not all points are given out at the end of the survey but given out after end of the survey period.. The only pay-out option is PayPal account. Minimum points required for pay-out is 20,000 P, equivalent to $2 USD.
Below is a screenshot of my current points, equivalent to $30 USD and a typical survey category. The survey is related to Finance for 8000 P for approximately 13 minutes. Do note that SurveyOn point expires 180 days after last log in. Sign up through their website, Google Play or App Store. Those are not affiliate links
1-3 Curious Cat
There is always a survey to participate but for surveys with higher points, I often get screened out (maybe it could be just coincidence for me). To cash out, PayPal is required.
Below is a screenshot of the surveys with its respective points (below left) and the cash outs (below right). My 495 points is equivalent to $9.27 SGD. Below right image show my past transactions. Download and register through the Google Play or App Store. These are not affiliate links.
1-4 Poll Pay
For Poll Pay, instead of points, the survey rewards are directly in monetary value. Below is a screenshot of it (below left) and the current balance in my account ($15.43 SGD). Unlike other apps, there is a small transaction fee ($0.50 SGD) for every cash out (below right in red box). PayPal is required for the cashing out.
Sign up for Poll Pay from Google Play and App Store. After registering, use the code FGH6EFNS3G and get a $0.31 SGD extra credit to start your account. This is an affiliate link, and I will also get a small commission if you the code. But you are free not to use that too.
1-5 YouGov
This was my first introduction to earning online through surveys, but they are far in between till end of 2020. But the number of questionnaires available has increased lately. After accumulating 5,000 points (equivalent for $25 SGD), you can cash out to your PayPal account. My current cash out is $50 SGD for 12,665 points (below left). Alternatively, you can also donate the same amount to UNICEF (below right).
Download and register from Google Play or App Store. I have no affiliation with the links.
1-6 Milieu
I started using this since end of 2020 and they have surveys on a regular basis but only one at a time. The minimum points required to cash out is 5,000 equivalent to $5 SGD. PayPal account is not required but offers mostly e-vouchers (Giant, Jasons, Cold Storage, 7-Eleven, GrabFood), PayNow etc. There are options to donate to a cause too. My accumulated points are now close to $30 SGD.
You can also download and register via Google Play and App Store. Use the code vn6GkHq during the registration for additional points. After completing 7 surveys, you will be rewarded with 500 extra points (I will also receive a one-time 500 points).
1-7 Google Rewards
The surveys are short and the pay-out for the time spend on the survey is very good. But the surveys put up are irregular, ranging between days to weeks. The points cannot be cashed out, but the credits can be used for purchasing apps in Google store. Do note that there is an expiry date of the points as shown (below in red box).
The app can be downloaded from Google Play and App Store.
2. ONLINE SHOPPING
If you are an online shopper (I guess many are these days), then this is a good option. What is worse than getting a portion of your online spending when most of our shopping is online now? The app that I use regularly is ShopBack for all my online shopping, when applicable. RebateMango was another similar site but, the site is no longer available.
2-1 ShopBack
ShopBack has not failed me with my online shopping so far, like travels, hotel reservation, dining, local taxi travels and online shopping platforms (Amazon, Qoo10, Lazada, iHerb etc.). They have a large merchandise under their umbrella. You can install the extension of Shopback from Chrome, Brave or FireFox browsers to track your shopping promotions. Currently, it is available in 9 countries: Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Look out for their promotions that offers high cashback of 10% or 12% with affiliate merchandise.
You can register using the link at ShopBack and get a $5 SGD bonus. Do read the Terms and Conditions for the details. This is an affiliate link, and I will also get a one-time $5 SGD after you meet the criteria.
Below is a screenshot of my Cashback of $678.66 SGD (in red box) earned so far – it shows the amount available for withdrawal, amount available to withdraw and pending amount. Minimum amount required for withdrawal is $10 SGD (in Singapore) and may vary from country. The Cashback can be withdrawn to your PayPal account or a local bank account.
The earnings from each questionnaire/activity/shopping may not be a lot of amount but it gradually adds up over time. The cumulative earnings from all the sources is easily $500 SGD per year (or more, depending on your activity). The amount is good enough to buy a short holiday ticket or something memorable or even investment. BUT the best is the BRAGGING rights to show off to your friends. I bought my first Garmin Instinct watch from the earnings here.
Besides these, you can also Get Active and Earn Money and Earn Free Cryptocurrencies Online.
Enjoy your earnings!
