Homemade Vs Commercial Bone Broth

I recently bought a packet of (frozen) bone broth from Meatmen to sample it (below is a picture of the package). It has a nice flavour of various herbs (as listed in the package) but a bit watered down. And the tallow is also missing, which is probably skimmed before packaging. Compared to my homemade bone broth, I was able to retain the thick layer of tallow at the top.

Below is comparison of the two bottled broths. The tallow is clearly missing from the commercial bone broth, while it is prominent with my homemade bone broth.

Below is a further comparison of the commercial broth and homemade broth (two layers are clearly visible). The darker colour from my homemade broth is probably because the bones were grilled in the oven prior the cooking and the carrots that used. Also, the mesh size from the strainer was not very fine and the broth contains particulates.

Commercial Broth
Homemade Broth
Pros Cons
Commercial Broth
Convenient; nice flavour
Tallow (gelatinous) and fat layer missing; diluted
Homemade Bone Broth
Ability to keep the tallow (gelatinous) and fat layer; Freedom to experiment with various herbs during the cooking process);
Time-consuming; Lots of work involved

Of course, this is not a comprehensive review but just an opinion of one commercial bone broth that I tried.
