HSBC GV Movie Card – Environment Friendly?

As a movie-buff, I try to maximize the viewing experience to be cost-effective.

With that view, I purchased the HSBC Movie card (in partnership with GV) worth $80 SGD, which was equivalent to 10 shows on weekdays – it was such a great deal! Or so, I thought.

But during the card collection, I learned that it was a single-use card. It was surprising considering the environmental impact of single-use plastic card.

Couldn’t GV or HSBC Singapore come up with a novel ways of being more environmentally friendly?

After all,  GV did away with their physical Movie Club. Was it not for  environmental reason?

Now that I have exhausted the credits on two of the HSBC Movie cards, what do I do with the plastic card?

Instead of a single-use plastic card, how about a card that could be topped-up and re-used? Or simply an app?

Is the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) metrics of no relevance here?
