Singapore tap water is generally considered safe to drink from the tap. Even the PUB website highlights that.
For years, I did not bothered to use a water filter. It was only during the Covid19 pandemic that I decided to try oneÂ
After searching the internet I decided to try Filtech brand because it was reasonably priced. I bought their Tap Filter with an extra filter.
I used the filter for drinking and cooking for several months (as a one person household). I realised it was time for filter replacement when the water flow was reduced.
Much to my surprise, I saw the darkened deposits on the exterior walls of the water filter. Below is a comparison of the used water filter against the new extra filter.
It may seem alarming to see that dark deposits but it is the accumulation of minute deposits over several months.
To use or not to use a Water Filter at home, you be the judge. But it is always good to have a layer of protection for your health.
