I managed to go for a run along Pandan Reservoir on 9 October 2021 (Saturday) after much planning. What was suppose to be an early morning run, started late around 8:00 AM. It seems, I have a different biological clock on weekends.
Pandan Reservoir is a nice place for a run/walk, especially with the vast scenic view of the reservoir. The track is mostly gravels of rocks and it makes a nice crunching sound as you move over it. It is a nice feeling compared to the regular running track.
However, the width of the track is not very wide and you also have to share the track with cyclist who will zip pass by every now and then. I noticed people kayaking, so there seems to be an option for that too.
The entire perimeter around the reservoir is about 6.2 km. There are several shelters provided along the track, but beyond that you are at the mercy of the open space. If you need to rehydrate and relieve, there is washroom and water fountain too but its towards one end of the track.
I started the 6.2 km run quite late (at 7:52 AM) and mid-way, the sun decided to shine down and the running was no longer enjoyable. If you plan to take a stroll or a run in the mornings, time it accordingly to avoid the hot sun.
Evenings would be better for photography if you are into capturing (lighted) street lamps and sunsets. Also, good for a slow leisurely stroll or just sit along some the benches provided and enjoy the evening.
