Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon Grand Finale 2021

Finally! Managed to participate in an in-person Run Event after 2 years of hiatus (my last in-person run was in December 2019). I joined the 10km category of the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) 2021 on 5 December 2021.
It was a breath of fresh air to participate in such an event. The atmosphere may not be the same as pre-Covid19 days but it was such a welcoming sight to see runners coming together.
About The Event
Despite the restrictions of the pandemic, the whole event was very well streamlined. The organisers did a good job in ensuring there was no long waiting time for the registration and crowding of runners. The flagging-off in groups of 3 people at a time in phases really helped.
The only flaw would be the distance, which turned out to be 10.8 km instead of 10 km. I used Garmin Instinct to track my run. I checked with other runners and they also confirmed the distance around that range. I guess the person(s) in-charged with the distance got distracted during the mapping 😅.
Overall, it was a nice evening and thoroughly enjoyed the run. Hoping this would be the gateway to more in-person running events in 2022.
I liked the colour and the design of the runner’s t-shirt of this year, compared to SCSM 2019.
