With Musk’s proposed takeover of Twitter at the helm, I often wonder how it will be like for Twitter with him as the boss?
Based on Musk’s past few months of tweets, he seems to take polls before making some major decisions..
1. Twitter Algorithm going Open Source
Musk has been vocal of making the code of Twitter open source to understand what goes behind the source code.
This is to create a sense of trust with the users. Whether he will be able to implement that is another issue, but his intentions are clear.
Twitter algorithm should be open source

2. Twitter Having Less Regulation
Musk believes that Twitter is biased in favour of left ideology and needs to be even-handed.
In a recent appearance, he was not in favour of Trump being banned from Twitter, saying it was “Morally Wrong” and “Flat-out Stupid” of Twitter.
Musk even had a poll to see the view from Twitter users, which sort of affirms his belief. This was one of the early tweets leading to the purchase of Twitter.
Free speech is essential to a functioning democracy.

Do you believe Twitter rigorously adheres to this principle?
In a follow-up post, referring to Twitter as the “de facto town square”, Musk is of the opinion of having opposing thoughts and ideas being exchanged without censorship.
Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy.

3. Twitter Having an Edit Button
Before his bid for Twitter, Musk had a Twitter poll asking his followers if they wanted an edit button.
(He misspelt “yes” to “yse” at the poll below 😁)

4. Giving Priority To Shareholders Over Board members
Musk even Tweeted out favouring shareholders, not the selected few board members, deciding on the pricing of Twitter.
Talk about the commoners having a voice.
Wow, with Jack departing, the Twitter board collectively owns almost no shares! Objectively, their economic interests are simply not aligned with shareholders.

5. Removing Bots from Twitter
Musk has been critical of the Bot users on Twitter, saying “The lowest estimate would be probably 20%”
20% fake/spam accounts, while 4 times what Twitter claims, could be *much* higher.

My offer was based on Twitter’s SEC filings being accurate.
Yesterday, Twitter’s CEO publicly refused to show proof of <5%.
This deal cannot move forward until he does.
Twitter’s CEO Parag Agrawal, tweeted out in disaggrement saying that it is less than 5%.
But an audit from the software company SparkToro showed that Nearly half of Biden’s Twitter followers are fake.
Hmm…. That should shed some light that Twitter CEO could be tangentially off when it comes to Bots on Twitter.
6. Poll on Politicians vs Billionaires
This was a rather interesting poll confirming to the stereotype joke of politicians being liars….😆
Who do you trust less? Real question.

If you have voted (in the majority) on Musk’s polls for the proposed changes on Twitter, you may like to keep an eye on the changes coming.
Now, will it be better or worse for Twitter under Musk? Only time will tell …
But in the meantime, Twitter just got more fun.
